The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important truth you will ever know and experience in life. It is literally the difference between eternal life with God or eternal separation from God. God's plan for the salvation and redemption of mankind is very clear in Scripture and there is no need to make it something complicated. It is not a laundry list of things "to do" or "not do". it is not a points system where your good deeds must outweigh your bad deeds. The truth of the Gospel message is that it is NOTHING you can do because Jesus has already done it all.
So, the question remains; What exactly IS the Gospel of Jesus Christ? I've broken it down into a few bullet points below.
Jesus Christ lived the sinless life you could never live so that his perfect righteousness could be imputed to you.
Jesus Christ died as the all sufficient sacrifice for sin that you could never be.
Jesus Christ rose from the dead to offer you the forgiveness you could never earn.
Jesus Christ offers you eternal salvation and freedom from the bondage of sin that you could never break.
Jesus Christ alone is the way, the truth and the life and through him alone you can enter into a personal relationship with the one true living God which you could never do on your own or via any other means.
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but has eternal life. (John 3:16)
YOU are one of the “Whosoever”.
Jesus Christ offers ALL of the above by simply believing in him and placing your trust in him alone for the forgiveness of your sins and for your eternal salvation without any merit or good works on your part. His free gift of eternal salvation can be obtained right now but the choice to accept him or reject him is completely yours. However, should you choose to reject him please remember this; from this moment forward, you may never again proclaim that you have not heard the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
